Well I decided to jump on the blog wagon. It seems like everyone has a blog these days. I'm obsessed with reading them and so I thought it was only necessary I start one myself. I'm not a person of words and I don't really enjoy writing, so we will see how long this thing lasts. The blog is called Baby, Olive You! Greg and I spent all night trying to think of a clever title. When I was shutting down all the names I contacted my friend, Renee, and she helped create not only the title but also the cute artwork to go along. I knew I could count on her! Olives hold a special place in our hearts. Weird right? For our first Valentine's together Greg and I set a limit of $25. We hadn't been dating long and I didn't want it to feel awkward. I picked up Greg's present and it was really heavy. I was curious what was inside. I opened it and immediately saw a huge bulk size jar of olives. I started laughing and thought of how my dad loved to wrap presents in weird boxes or stuff it with heavy objects to throw me off on Christmas morning. I thought this was what Greg was trying to do and gave him the olives. He looked confused and said that the olives were for me and that I could use them for cooking. I do enjoy cooking, but kalamata olives are probably as gross as green olives. Everyone knows black olives are the best! He felt really awkward and insisted that we take them back and get something else. I now have a very cute black sweater. Needless to say, olives are funny to us. We now say "OliveYou" and everyone who knows the story loves to embarass Greg about it.
The second part of the title "baby" is because Greg and I are about to embark on this crazy journey called parenthood. We are expecting our first child! We hope you can join us on this journey by following our blog. I'm not going to update it everyday, but I will try my best to post every week. We don't live close to many family members so this will be a great way for them to join in our journey. Stay tuned...
