And your first word is......

......Dada!

Ugh!! I tried so hard to get Liam to say Mama.  We practiced the MMMMmmmm sound while eating, playing, singing, etc.  Nothing worked.  Liam started whispering "Dada" a few days after he turned 8 months. And now....a month later he screams it.  All day....everyday!

I have discovered that I can definitely use this to my advantage. "Who do you want to change your diaper?" "Liam, do you want me to wake up in the middle of the night with you?"

Everyone and everything is Dada. Dada....Dada...Dada. I know you are just saving mama for the PERFECT time!

Next word?? Watch it be KC. You loveeee your doggie!

**I'm super behind in blogging, this happened when you were 8 months old!**

O-H-I-O

Way back in April we went to Ohio to visit my side of the family.  Liam was almost 8 months old at the time. We decided to fly because driving with a baby sounded awful and he was still free to fly! Also the airlines will let you check anything you need for a baby for free.  So it's a win win for all!

We had a jam packed weekend, but we had a great time.

Liam got to meet his grandpa for the first time.

He got to meet his great Aunt Judy for the first time as well.  She was so excited!!

We spent the day at my Aunt Patty's.  Since it was such a short trip we only got to see the family once.  But we made the most of it and hung out there all day!!

Liam with his grandma's sisters.  His Great Aunts Judy, Sandy, and Patty.

Liam even got to meet Cindy.  This is grandma's best friend in high school.

Liam was exhausted after seeing everyone.

While we were there we had Aunt Sandy fix up Liam's haircut.  Oh boy!! Greg and I were so thankful. She really helped out his awful first haircut.

What a handsome boy!!

While in Ohio, we stayed with Kelly and James.  We love staying with them.  It is so relaxing and fun.  They are the perfect hosts.

My friend Samantha just moved home from California and so we got to see her and her son JT. Samantha and I are a month a part and so are our sons.  Samantha is one month older than me, and JT is one month older than Liam. Liam wasn't really a fan on JT. He was being super crabby around him.  (We didn't know it at the time, but he was cutting his two bottom teeth). This could have had something to do with his crabbiness or maybe Liam just doesn't like sharing toys!

Friends since first grade!

Kelly's mom was so excited to have two babies in town so she had a get together at her place. It was so nice to be able to see everyone.

After our short trip to Ohio, we were excited to get home.  As much fun as traveling is, it really ruins a baby's schedule!

First Haircut

Liam got his first haircut on his 7th month birthday.  It was definitely time. We could put his hair in a pony tail. Well...almost!

I wanted to take him to a cute place with spaceships and lollipops.  You know...the kind you see on TV. This place had no spaceships or lollipops, but it did have prizes.  Liam walked out of there with a rubber ducky!

I looked at reviews online and honestly, they weren't the best! Note to self - always read reviews, and then follow their advice.  I didn't follow their advice and off we went, to get Liam's first haircut. Greg and I were both pretty nervous about it.

At first it wasn't so bad.  Liam didn't cry at all.  He was memorized by the lady cutting his hair and wanted to follow her around everywhere with his eyes.  She didn't do a horrible job, it actually didn't look terrible.

Then Greg and I started having her cut a little here, and then a little there.  That's where it got ugly. Next time Greg and I will just keep our mouths shut and hope for the best.

Luckily, he is cute regardless of his hair or not.  I did miss his crazy hair, and it honestly took me a few days to get used to the new Liam. Greg had to remind me a few times it was still the same baby! :)

The before and after...

Yay! We all survived!

A few of my favorite things: Month 9

1. As soon as you hear music your whole body starts to rock.  You put the biggest smile on your face and you wave your arms in the air.  You LOVE music. I can't wait to get you into a music class. I think you will love it.

2. You have finally begun to understand your walker.  I will put you in it and KC and I will literally run away from you. You will get our toes if we aren't paying attention.

3. This month you have been the true definition of a mama's boy.  There are nights when I am the only one who can hold you.  If I leave you and walk away you will cry and cry until I come back.  I don't mind - I actually love it!

4. No crawling yet! You scoot to where you need to go.  You get really excited.  You are figuring out that you can get places, you don't need your mom and dad.  You can't go far, but it's at least a start.

5. You have this fake laugh that is hilarious. I will laugh really obnoxiously and then you will laugh right back at me. Your dad blames me for your fake laugh. It's okay...he has a fake laugh too.  You will notice it when you get older. :)

6. One of your tired cues this month has been scratching/pulling on your ears.  You will do this if you are really tired or really upset. Sometimes you will make yourself bleed. The doctor suggested we keep your nails short. Problem solved!

Liam: 10 months

**This photo shoot was the worst yet, withing 2 seconds you discovered the sticker and wanted it off immediately.

Weight: ???
Height: ???
Head Circumference: ???

Clothes: You are in all 12 month clothes. We still have some 9 month clothes out, but you rarely wear them. I actually got super organized this month and we have clothes organized throughout the house all the way through 5T. Clothes is something we have been very fortunate in.  I hope you like hand me downs, because your dad and I sure do!

Diapers: You wear size 3 during the day and size 4 at night.  This month I started trying other diapers. Your whole life you have been in Pampers Swaddlers, and I think you will continue your life in Swaddlers.  I'm a diaper snob!

Health: You have been very healthy this month! No problems whatsoever!

Diet: You are nursing/taking a bottle 4 times a day. Whenever I am home with you, you exclusively nurse. The less bottles I have to wash the better! I hate washing those things.

You are eating 3 meals a day, and some days you even have a snack. In the morning you still have your fruit and sometimes even a pancake. At lunch you have a fruit and veggie, and at dinner you have fruit and protein.  This month we started introducing more solids in your diet. Last month we tried watermelon and you gagged and puked it all up.  Now I can officially say watermelon just might be your favorite food. I'm not sure what new foods you have tried this month, I'm trying to introduce you to a lot since we got the clear from your doctor last month.  Off the top of my head I know you tried black beans, tuna, cucumber, and strawberries.  You have done really well with fruit cut up, but you still struggle with veggies.  I'm still pureeing your food (mainly veggies), but I'm really hoping to introduce you to more solids this next month. You love bread and LOVE your sippy cup. You always have water and are constantly taking sips.

Sleep:  You honestly hate sleeping.  You pretty much cry yourself to sleep every night and every nap. You prefer to be held standing and rocked back and forward.  Humming or breathing deeply seem to help calm you down.  When you are tired you rub your eyes and/or scratch and pull on your ears.

You still enjoy going to bed late at night. Your dad and I joke about how you are staying up to watch the 11 o'clock news. Once you finally fall asleep you usually sleep through the night.  Some nights you will cry a little in bed, but you typically put yourself back to sleep. You wake up anywhere between 6:30-8:00, it just depends on the day.

You are still taking two naps a day.  If you miss these naps you are pretty cranky the rest of the day.  You refuse to sleep when we are out in public.  You are just way too interested in what is going on around you to sleep! You might miss something! You still love sleeping in the car, some days we can't even make it out of the neighborhood before you are asleep.

Likes: being held by mommy, screaming/yelling, sucking on your lips, toys, standing/pulling yourself up, being thrown in the air, music, drinking water, eating food, playing with dad, peek-a-boo, swinging on swings

Dislikes: having water poured on your head in the bath, going to sleep, laying on the changing table, finishing a meal, being taken from your mama

Milestones:This month has been a pretty big month. You started hugging. LOVE THIS!  You finally took off crawling.  This is exciting and also terrifying. You are now mobile.  We can't just sit you down and go get ready anymore. You have gotten really good at standing.  You are pulling yourself up on EVERYTHING without assistance.  You are discovery everything as well.  Outlets, check! Cords, check! We are needing to baby proof ASAP.  You are now an expert waver.  You wave to everyone.  Another milestone would be self feeding.  You haven't quite learned the pincher grasp so you shove big handfuls of food into your mouth.  But it's a start! You are also holding your sippy cup and even taken an interest in your spoon.

This month you were also baptized!

Personality: Ahh! I just love you.  I literally love everything about you. I love when you get super cranky and only want to be held by your momma. I love how you do something you know you aren't allowed to and you will look right me and then do it anyway.  I love how you and I have screaming matches with one another . If I go too loud you will cry in defeat! I love how you wrap your little hands around me and give me the best hug and slobbery kisses on my face. I love how you will get into a laughing fit.  I love how you can go from happy one second to completely sad with huge crocodile tears the next. I love how you read books, you flip through the pages as quickly as you can. I love how you pinch my skin and bite my shoulder. I love you bubs! You are truly a blessing to your father and I, we are so lucky to have you.
