Celebrations of Daddy!

Dada has two celebrations in the summer.  Well actually three if you count our anniversary.  We celebrated Father's Day and his 34th birthday.

For fathers day I thought it would be fun to go downtown for an early lunch.  Apparently everyone else had that same idea. We waited a little more than I wanted to, but we still had a great day.

At the restaurant Liam tried a lemon for the first time.  He didn't like it at first, but then wanted more. After that he was so exhausted from all the waiting that he literally took a nap on the floor of the restaurant. Kind of gross, but a baby has to sleep!

We love our daddy! Poor KC got cut out of the family photo, story of her life!

Greg also got to celebrate the big 34!! Liam wanted to do something special for his daddy so he painted him a picture.

I did that?? Wow! I'm good!

Kay wanted to do a practice smash cake for Greg's birthday.

So we naturally shoved his face in the cake.  Liam was not impressed.  He was actually quite upset about it all.

Summer Time

We had a great summer! We had some visitors, went on some vacations, got to see lots of family, and really enjoyed our days outside as much as we could.

Grandma came for the whole month of June.  It was so great having her here. I was spoiled with someone folding my laundry, letting me take naps during the day, allowing me to go shopping, and on date with my husband.  Can she just move here already?? We got to see her THREE times this summer. I know she sure enjoyed her time with Liam. She was sure sad to say goodbye.  We were too.

Early birthday celebration

Grandma is so FUN!!

Liam got to go see the ocean for the first time this summer.  He loved the water.  He wasn't so sure about the sand.  That was probably my fault as well.  I wouldn't let him eat the sand. (mean mom!!) His first beach experience was at Myrtle Beach.  We went there at the end of June with grandma and Aunt Kay.

Here are some pictures from his first time at the beach...

The first day was a little cloudy. But he was still into it!

Liam definitely gets his love of the water from his dad and Grandma.

Our last day the sun decided to show up. We soaked up all the rays before heading home.

While there we did a photo shoot for his first birthday invitations. Baby Model!

The next weekend we went back to the beach, Atlantic Beach. We brought KC this time and spent the Fourth of July there. KC loves the water.  Liam enjoyed watching her going nuts in the ocean. (This trip has it's own post full of pictures!)

The next weekend we went to Florida for Uncle Duff and Aunt Heather's wedding. It was so nice to see everyone again.  A lot of people got to meet Liam for the first time. Liam was a great traveler.  So lucky he just goes with the flow. (This trip also has it's own post!)

After all that travel we really tried to stay home and just enjoy the rest of the summer. Some highlights included the pool, Liam's birthday party, a trip to the Aquarium, Aloha Safari Zoo, and lots of family walks outside.

It's impossible to believe that this kid hated the water at the beginning of the summer.  Like literally HATED it. I'm so glad we got over that fear fast!

Happy Fourth of July

Haha! This sounds so ridiculous saying in November. But we will just pretend it is July.

We found a great beach rental at Atlantic Beach this year. We love that it was at Atlantic Beach because dogs can go there.  We see ourselves going back to this place often!

While there we enjoyed playing catch with KC in the ocean...

Eating ice cream and going on lots of family walks....

Trying to see the fireworks in the distance....

Relaxing at the beach and pool...

Visiting the NC Aquarium....

Liam enjoyed watching the divers in the giant tank.

He even got to high five one!

And just spending time together...

Vacation is exhausting! But oh so much fun!
