Showered with L.O.V.E

Three of my amazing NC friends threw me a baby shower. I was so excited and honored that they threw me a shower.   It was so sweet of them.  The theme was, "You are my Sunshine!"  It was a perfect day with some amazing ladies.

The three lovely hosts: Michelle, Amy, and Rosemary

The decorations and food were amazing.  We ate off the food at school for the next 3 days!

Michelle MADE this cake! I just LOVE that crafty friend of mine.

I got so many thoughtful gifts. Liam got his first monogramed item and 2 handmade blankets.  These will be treasured forever!

My roommate from college even made it! So happy to see her!!

How many pregnant people can you fit in a shower? The answer is 4! There are so many pregnant women at school.  It's crazy!!

We played some fun games at the shower as well.  I had to guess who brought the onesie.  I actually did pretty well at this game! They measured my belly with string, we smelled some "dirty" diapers with melted candy inside, and then we had to match the correct celebrity baby name to their parents.

It was indeed a SUNSHINE of a day! Love those sweet friends of mine.

Week 28

Welcome to the Third Trimester! Instead of updating every month I'm going to try really hard to update every week.  We will see how this goes. Things are changing pretty quickly around here.

Week 28

Liam is the size of: an eggplant! He should be between 1.5-2.5 pounds, and measuring a little under 15 inches

At 28 weeks our baby boy is:
-starting to develop more fat
-his lungs are more mature, so mature he could probably survive on his own now
I'm getting all the above stats from my favorite website: thebump.com

Sleep: I'm still sleeping great! I now have to wake up every night to pee, and I always sleep on my left side. I really miss sleeping on my stomach.

Pregnancy Symptoms: nesting like woah!!, I have the dark line on my stomach (yuck), having to go to the bathroom ALOT, and thats about it.

Movement: Liam is a very active baby.  I finally figured out what has been jabbing me in the ribs for the past month.  His butt! I only feel him on the right side.  My stomach literally jumps in the morning and at night.  He is also very active whenever I eat.

How I'm Feeling:  I'm feeling great! I walk a little slower and get tired a little easier but I have a lot of energy.  Poor Greg has to-do lists like crazy.  He is being a trooper! I'm so thankful he is there to help me get all things checked off my list.

Best Moments of the Week:
-We bought a dresser for Liam's room.
-We bought a few samples of gray to paint the nursery with, unfortunately I don't like any of them.
-Kaylee and I went to a painting class where we painted pictures of KC.  I'm in LOVE with them and can't wait to hang them in the nursery.
-We had our 28 week ultrasound.  I am cleared for delivery, I don't have to have a C-Section!!
WOAH!! This was a busy week!!

Month 6 Recap

Due Date: August 11th, Greg thinks he will be born in July. I told him he's crazy!

Gender: all blue, baby boy!

Feeling: overwhelmed! I downloaded a new app on my phone for to-do lists. I have a lot of things going through my mind of things I need to/would like to get done.  I also feel myself forgetting things very easily. (Pregnancy Brain!) The to-do list app is a must!

Maternity Clothes: necessity

Food Cravings: This month I have been eating buckets of strawberries.  I can't get enough! I would say my number one craving would be fruit.  Although, Greg and I went out to Diary Queen one night and I had to have their cheese fries.  They were AMAZING!

Food Aversions: I can now eat chicken when I go to restaurants. YAY! I still can't bring raw chicken into the house.  Maybe I'll start doing that next month.

Sleep:  Sleeping fine.  I now have to wake up every night to use the bathroom.  I always sleep on my left side and I literally have to roll out of bed some mornings.  Luckily, Greg is there to give me a push.

Miss Anything: sushi, daily coke, ice cold drafts - the usual!

Best Moments:
  • Passed my Glucose test, feeling Liam move every single day, getting the nursery cleared out (when we first moved that was the junk room)

Week by Week Recap:

Week 24
  • This week we saw him moving from the outside. It was so cool! Greg and I sat in bed and I was dying laughing. Every time I laughed he would stop.
  • Liam did not stop moving! He moved for at least 48 hours straight and then was silent for 24 hours. He was probably exhausted.
Week 25
  • Had my glucose test and I PASSED! It honestly wasn't as bad as people make it seem. I actually didn't mind the drink.  Its full of sugar, so I'm sure thats a bad thing that I enjoyed it.
Week 26
  • People are starting to acknowledge in public that I'm pregnant.  I'm getting the same questions, "When are you due, What are you having, How are you feeling?" It's hard to hide the bump now.
Week 27
  • Walks with KC are getting harder and harder.  On my way back from the walk I am holding my belly.  KC and I have retired from walks alone, Greg must go with us now.
