Liam is TWO!

We celebrated Liam's 2nd birthday a little early this year.  We had lots of traveling to do, so we celebrated 2 weeks early.

The theme was CONSTRUCTION. Next year he will probably start to have an opinion on his birthday theme so this was my last year to take complete charge. Thanks to Pinterest I had tons of ideas. I originally wanted to do a theme around "The Little Blue Truck" book that he loves so much, but Pinterest wasn't giving me a lot of ideas.

The party was outside and I set up stations for the kids to play. We invited 10 kids from our play group, some of my friends from work, and a few family members.  I went a little over board with the invites and almost everyone said yes. We had about 50 people. Yikes! Luckily, we have the perfect backyard for hosting large crowds.

Decorations:

I went a little crazy with signs.  Once I started, I couldn't stop. I was having a blast making decorations!

We ordered subs, veggie try, and a cake from our grocery store. I made pasta salad, used grapes as "wrecking balls," and served Chex Mix as "nuts and bolts."  Everything went with the theme. Again, I had a lot of fun with this!

The food

We had a great time celebrating with friends and family.  Even Grandma was able to come and enjoy the fun! Since this blog is out there for everyone to see I'm going to keep the majority of pictures of Liam and his friends off the blog. Darn - because there are some cute ones!

We decided to open presents after everyone left. He was super excited about everything he opened. He oooooed and aahhed all over the place. I love the curly toes in this picture and his cheesy smile. He is "cheesing" really hard in this picture!

We love you so much Bubby! You are our whole world!
