I haven't really done a lot of research on a breeched baby, because frankly Google can be really scary. I looked at some Google images of a breeched baby and was horrified at some of the pictures I saw. The doctor said it is nothing I can worry about now. He still has plently of room to move around and they will check again at 34 weeks. There is also nothing that I can really do. I suggested some headstands, but apparently that doesn't work.
At 34 weeks if they think he is still breeched, they will give him 2 more weeks to move on his own. At my 36 week appointment they will do an ultrasound if they think he is still breeched. At that time, if Liam is still breeched, we will schedule a C-section for my 39th week.
I'm not completely upset about this. Whatever happens, happens. I'm not one of those women who is 100% against a c-section and if it's better for Liam I'm completely on board. We will just see how it goes. He now has 3 weeks to flip. Swim Liam....swim!!!
The doctor said that at 32 weeks 30% of babies are breeched. By the 36th week that number drops to 6%. So the numbers are looking good! We will keep you posted.
